Raw pet food delivery in the UK: which brands ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode recommend

We asked ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode 12 questions UK pet owners ask about raw food delivery: puppies with sensitive stomachs, kittens, working dogs, subscriptions with vet support. The answers name 20 brands. One subscription brand dominates, and specialists appear once the question gets specific.

Bella & Duke is in almost every answer

Bella & Duke is named in 31 of the 36 answers, and first in 27. Nutriment follows with 13, ProDog Raw with 11 and Paleo Ridge with 10. The questions were written from Bella & Duke's offer (see the method), which helps it a lot here: many of them describe what it sells. The order of the others is the more telling result.

On top-rated complete raw dog food delivered across the UK, the most neutral question, all three models name Bella & Duke first, and all three then name Naturaw, ProDog Raw and Paleo Ridge.

Dogs and cats get different brands

On the 6 questions about dogs and puppies, Bella & Duke is named in 14 answers of 18, ProDog Raw in 10, Nutriment in 9 and Paleo Ridge in 7. On the 3 about cats, Bella & Duke is in 8 answers of 9, and the rest of the list changes: Purrform, LUNA & me and Nutriment with 3 each, Purraw with 2.

The leader does slip when the question goes beyond what it is known for. For a raw dog food service that also offers grain-free training treats, only ChatGPT names Bella & Duke, in second place. On hypoallergenic single-protein food, ChatGPT names only Raw Direct.

Few names from outside raw food

Only 4 answers name a brand or service outside raw feeding. VidiVet, a vet service, is named by ChatGPT and Gemini on the question about online vet access. Butternut Box, which sells cooked food, is named twice by Google AI Mode.

Short lists, and little agreement

Gemini names 3.4 brands per answer, Google AI Mode 2.9 and ChatGPT 2.6. These are short lists, and ChatGPT sometimes names one brand and stops: Bella & Duke alone on pre-portioned meals and on food for both dogs and cats. Only 6 of the 20 brands are named by all three models.

bellaandduke.com is the website cited most, in 23 answers of 36, far ahead of prodograw.com with 7 and nutriment.co.uk with 6. cotswoldraw.com and smartbark.co.uk follow with 5 each, then lunaandme.com and rawdirect.co.uk with 4. Raw Direct is named once and cited in 4 answers. ChatGPT cites 5.6 sites per answer, Gemini 3.2 and Google AI Mode 2.0.

What this means for pet food brands

• Short lists are hard to enter. With about three names per answer, a single place on the list matters. Specific needs are the easiest way in.
• Cats are a separate opening. Cat questions bring in names that are absent on dogs. Dedicated cat pages can win answers a general brand does not hold.
• Own pages are the sources. Brand sites are cited most. Feeding guides, ingredient details and clear delivery terms are what assistants can quote.
• Specific needs are open. Allergies, working dogs and treats produce different names. Each deserves its own page.

Method

12 questions in English, written from the offer of one brand, Bella & Duke, across dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, subscriptions and support. Each question was asked once to ChatGPT (with web search), Gemini and Google AI Mode, for the UK market, on October 26, 2026: 36 answers. We looked in each answer for 33 pet food brands and services (names and common spellings), counted the answers naming each, their position among those names in the answer, and the websites cited.

This is a snapshot: three models, one day and 12 questions. AI answers vary from one session to the next, so a difference of one or two answers between two names is not significant. Because the questions start from one brand's strengths, they favour it strongly; they do not measure the whole pet food market. This study reports what AI assistants say. It is not feeding or veterinary advice.
