Online pet pharmacies in the UK: which ones ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode recommend

We asked ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode 12 questions UK pet owners ask about buying pet medicines and care online: prescription dog medicine at a low price, flea and worming treatments, a renal diet for a cat, joint supplements for an old Labrador, rabbit gut care. VioVet is the pharmacy named most, Pet Drugs Online and Animed Direct follow, and Gemini refuses half of the questions.

Also named, in fewer than 3 answers each: 14 other pet health brands.

ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, October 26, 2026. One answer can name several pet health brands.

Horses and rabbits have their specialists

For horse supplements and first aid, the answers name equine brands and suppliers: NAF and Equine America in 3 answers each, Supplement Solutions and Science Supplements in 2. For rabbit healthcare, Rabbit Care UK, Science Selective, Sherwood Pet Health and Protexin are each named in all three answers. VioVet is the one general pharmacy named on both themes.

A bigger bubble is more answers on the theme. Small bubbles without a name are named in one answer: hover them to read it.

Gemini refuses the medicine questions

Gemini gave no answer to 6 of the 12 questions: the most reliable online pet pharmacies, flea and worming treatments, pain medication for a cat, heart medication for a dog, calming products and renal food for a cat. Each time, it replied that its safety filters had stopped it. ChatGPT and Google AI Mode answered all 12, and name a pharmacy in 12 answers each. On the medicine questions, the pharmacies' visibility rests on those two models.

What this means for online pet pharmacies

• The leaders are the sites the answers read. VioVet and Pet Drugs Online are both the pharmacies named most and the websites cited most.
• Trust is part of the answer. The answers send owners to the VMD's register of accredited retailers. A pharmacy should show its accreditation where the assistants can read it.
• Each theme has its own short list. Horses, rabbits, diets and calming products each bring different names. A general pharmacy wins these questions with pages on each need.
• Gemini does not answer on medicines. On prescription questions, visibility in ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is what counts.

Method

12 questions in English, written as UK owners of dogs, cats, horses and rabbits would ask them. Each question was asked once to ChatGPT (with web search), Gemini and Google AI Mode, from the UK, on October 26, 2026: 36 answers. We looked in each answer for 44 online pharmacies, pet retailers and pet health brands (names and common spellings), counted the answers naming each, their position among those names in the answer, and the websites cited.

This is a snapshot: three models, one day and 12 questions. AI answers vary from one session to the next, so a difference of one or two answers between two names is not significant. Gemini's six refusals count as answers naming no one.
